I can't believe how much I miss the Molecules. My mornings are missing that little something! Greetings from sunny (ok, not all days) Seattle! I've been home for a few days, visiting great friends, seeing movies and taking care of lose ends. Drew started the executive MBA program at the University of Chicago last week. He comes home from work, takes a small break and then heads to the den to hit the books. He's determined not to fall behind. Every other weekend he will head to Chicago for two full days of classes. He's doing very well, and making us all quite proud. Click here to see Seattle photos.
Haley and her family (not Pepper) are coming to Seattle in two weeks I hope they call me so I can enjoy time with them. I want to take them to my favorite coffee shop, where the cookies don't get any bigger!!

Before heading to Seattle, I spent time in Florida with my parents. Whew, I forget how hot and humid it can be during the day. I've done well remembering total sunblock, keeping the nose out of the sun! My trip to Florida was also a time to visit those lifelong friends that we don't see often enough. I had a wonderful dinner with Mayka and her beautiful family. What fun!
I then drove to east coast of FL to St. Petersburg to visit my friend Debbie and her family. I fell in love with her four year old son, Danny! He was named after her brother who passed away ten years ago. (I miss Dan, tremendously..the kindest man I've ever known) On Sunday, we went to the church Debbie's dad was a pastor for many years. Debbie's parents, Glenn and VIvian are my second set of parents for the past 20 years. I love them both with all my heart. My last trip before heading to the airport was to Seabring, FL to spend time with Kathy (Debbie's sister) and her partner. They both run a successful company, Vital Systems. I thought I lived a fast paced life in kindergarten; they blow me away.
It's been a few weeks since the last blog. We had some awesome events that took place, and one that the Molecules really shinned was the Rising K Orientation. For two hours we welcomed rising K kids by reading, chanting poems, singing and creating art together. Mrs. V and I got to have a peek at next year! We're already talking and making plans for another exciting year. Click here for photos.
Our trip to the National Zoo was short and sweet. For someone new to DC, I could have stayed a few more hours. The Molecules enjoyed the day with one another and all the animals. This trip brought a perfect end to our animal kingdom unit. Click here for photos.
Our heart was pumping and getting healthy as we all participated in the ASFS Field Day events. Sunscreen on face and body, we played and played enjoying the outdoors and good friends. Mr. Bosley and Ms. Regan danced in the shade. Click here for photos.
Our end of the year was a week that I will never forget. Please check out all the photos! Click here to enter the photo gallery. The End of the Year Celebration and Hawaiian Luau was the perfect ending to a perfect year. The slide show and Rainbow song are ready for downloading. Be sure to play the song while watching the movie. They go together! Enjoy!!
So many great photos taken this year! I am not sure how many of you have explored Flickr, the tool I use to showcase our photos. But if you become a member (very simple and FREE), you can actually order prints. We order prints to include in our personal photo album. You just really need to have those hard copies to fully enjoy.
The last and final (doubt it) request from Mr. Riley; please support your child in telling us all what exciting things they are doing this summer by signing the blog. Mrs. V and I love hearing all about the exciting adventures of our beautiful Molecules.
I return to Arlington August 22 and I can't wait to swim with my favorite bunch of kids!
I am camping at Potomac.
I get to swim every day.
I am having lots of fun.

I had a great time with Mr. Riley in Seattle--he is so funny!!! He has a very nice condo. I met one of his cats--the other one hid from me. I also got to try out new Crayons and paints for his next class. I loved my trip to Seattle--check out our pictures in the photo section.
See everyone soon!
Love, Haley
